BACKUP & RESTORE

A backup of the Mavim Online environment is made daily at fixed hours (08:00, 12:00 and 18:00 CET). The 18:00 backup will be retained for 64 days. A backup is made every week on Saturday, which is then stored in the data region for 52 weeks (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/global-infrastructure/locations/).

The database has a log file that is backed up every 5 minutes. The log file can be used to determine which backup should be restored. Log file backups are retained for 30 days. Log data for Application Insights is stored in Log Analytics workspaces and stored 90 days. Mavim uses an Azure Sensor Pack and PRTG for proactive monitoring.

Data deletion in Azure is according to NIST SP 800-88 R1 “Guidelines for Media Sanitization”

Note: backups are encrypted at-rest and in-transit using AES-256. Backups are securely disposed using the Microsoft Azure standards.
